Fen's Backdrop What is this?
Why?
His brilliant "Structure, Sign, and Play in the Discourse of the Human Sciences" challenges the very idea of whether fundamental truth exists. In the act, he exposes what we see as truth to simply be the "force of our desire" and the human willingness to accept contradiction. Yet he does it with an intelligence that enlightening rather than nihilistic.
Foucault once said of Derrida: "He writes so obscurely you can't tell what he's saying, that's the obscurantism part, and then when you criticize him, he can always say, 'You didn't understand me; you're an idiot.' That's the terrorism part." Reading Derrida is quite the trip through the rabbit hole, but then, that's part of the fun.

When I came to America at age 5, I didn't speak any English. There was something about staring at the TV screen filled with strange aliens wearing pajama-like costumes that appeals to a little kid in a foreign land.
Now I'm getting my Ph.D. in Astrophysics.

I wish I was getting my PhD in Astrophysics. What are you prophesying these days?
